How we frame it
Whatever it is, it's mounted so it's supported and removable — hidden mounts, stitched straps, custom cradles. Nothing adhesive touches the object. Fifty years from now it should lift out looking exactly as it does today.
The whole point of a shadow box is depth, and the depth should fit the thing, not a catalog size. A baseball glove, a challenge coin, and a christening gown each need a different box. We build to the object.
Down here, humidity and UV are the two enemies of anything kept. A properly sealed shadow box with conservation glazing keeps both out — so the leather doesn't dry, the ribbon doesn't fade, and the patch colors stay true.
