Worth knowing

A few craft notes.

Wider mats almost always win

A cheap frame with a generous mat beats an expensive profile crushed against the art. Give the piece air — your eye needs a place to rest before the moulding starts.

Pinned, not glued

Jerseys and textiles leave the way they arrived. Hidden stitches and pins on acid-free backing — nothing adhesive on the fabric. If someone offers to glue it down, walk.

Museum glass is a Florida decision

South-facing wall + signature ink = fade city. UV glazing isn't an upsell here; it's the difference between forever and five summers.

Keep going

More without the pitch.

When you're ready

No rush.

If something at home deserves a closer look someday, walk in with it — or send a photo. A framer will design with you. Until then, the tips are free.
